이승연(b.1994)은 부재하는 존재를 감각할 때를 기록해 기억하며 개인의 상실과 죽음을 이해하는 방식이 어떻게 세상을 이해하는 방식과 연결되는지 보여주고자 한다. 사라지는 것들에 형태를 부여해 인간이 감각하는 것 보다 거대한 시간대의 흔적을 좇는다. 이는 보존을 위해 시간을 수집하는 일종의 고고학적 행위처럼 수많은 시간과 두텁게 쌓인 역사의 지층을 파헤쳐 장소에 남아있는 기억의 진동을 더듬는 일이다. 주요 전시로는 개인전 《먼지와 연기》(2025, 전시공간), 단체전 《바닐라》(2026, 캡션서울), 《마음 이완》(2025, 챔버) 등이 있다.
